The pitch winner at the Tech Open Air in Berlin was CEO of Lovely, Jakub Konik. The company produces the first smart sex toys in the world. The technology provides couples with statistics and variety of ideas, as well as personalised suggestions in order to improve sex quality and bring more pleasure into everyday activities.
Largest interdisciplinary technology festival Tech Open Air, which took a place in Berlin grew in the last five years TOA grew from just five hundred to eleven thousand participants in 2016!
The Festival hosted over 150 high-caliber speakers. Among them were such well-known figures as Yancey Strickler (CEO of KickStarter), Looke Woods (Head of product design at Facebook), Eamonn Carey (Managing director at Techstars) and many others.
Lovely performed best during the pitch and the company managed to beat competitors and defend their idea in front o the jury. Bastian Bergmann from WATTx, Cindy Gallop from MakeLoveNotPorn, and Dave Mathews from NewAer were members of the jury the jury.
One of the jury members, Cindy Gallop has said that “the smart sex toys couples do have a colossal marketing potential due to their uniqueness. There are no similar products on the market, which would deliver the value of both pleasing the partners during sex.”

Moreover, Lovely got a range of rewards for winning the TOA competition. The founders are going to enjoy one month of NYC office space and a startup coaching program which is a courtesy of WorkBetter, $50,000 of AWS Activate Credits, two days at the The VIESSMANN GROUP Headquarters in Allendorf including a stay at a luxury 4 Star Spa Hotel with all travel costs covered, an extensive tour through every facet of the company, lunch with CEO Joachim Janssen, and an Illuminating Ideation or Design Thinking workshop and a lot of others.
