A recent report from Accenture reveals how an overwhelming majority of travelers (97%) want a traveling “superapp,” offering one-stop integrated access to a large range of services to make travel seamless.

Recognising this demand for integrated travel solutions, Lisbon-based Tripnly is an “All-in-One Travel Platform” with digital solutions for travelers at any stage of the travel journey.

CEO Alper Aydın outlines how the company’s “goal is to be the best companion for travelers before, during and after their travels,” aiming “to bridge the innovation gap in the travel sector and set a new industry standard,” he told 150Sec.

Founded in May 2022 in Istanbul, Turkey, Tripnly, which also has a presence in Portugal and the United Kingdom, aims to disrupt the traditional structure of the travel industry and redefine the travel user experience.

Tripnly soft-launched on iOS on 20 August 2024. Within its first two weeks, the app achieved an impressive ranking of 116th in the Travel category of the Apple Store in Portugal. Along with this, the company has secured €240,000 of its €480,000 pre-seed investment round through the participation of various angel investors.

Through the highly selective Startup Visa Portugal programme, the company expanded to Europe in January 2024. Tripnly was selected for the Startup Lisboa Incubation programme for the Fall Batch 2023, establishing a headquarters in Portugal by October 2024.

The company was also selected as one of the partner startups of the Lisbon Mayor’s Office for the Web Summit 2024, an annual technology conference hosted in the Portuguese capital between November 11 to November 14 this year.

Tripnly will join the event’s programme in the ALPHA track which aims to spotlight early-stage startups with outstanding potential and connect them with the world’s most influential people and companies.

At the Web Summit 2024, the company is preparing to announce new AI-based features, partnerships and significant developments.

Looking into 2025, Tripnly aims to expand its presence in the Portuguese market while growing its user base and partner network across Western Europe and the UK, the company said.

What makes Tripnly different?

Operating out of both Portugal and Turkey, Tripnly serves thousands of travelers everyday. Currently, the company has a network of over 50 B2B partners and is backed by global investors.

According to its CEO, Tripnly differentiates itself by centralizing “all the tools that travelers need in one place, encompassing the entire journey – from discovery and planning to booking and sharing experiences.”

Aydin added how “this not only meets all the needs of travelers but positions Tripnly as an app that they can continue to use even when they are not traveling, by providing inspirational content, offering discounted offers and the ability to plan future trips.”

Commitment to Carbon Neutrality by 2030

Since the company’s founding, Tripnly says it has been committed to environmental consciousness and carbon neutrality.

Therefore, Tripnly aims to make every single trip carbon-neutral by 2030.

“The travel sector is responsible for approximately 8% of the world’s greenhouse gas emission, making it a key area for sustainable change,” Aydın stated.

Tripnly strongly considers that carbon offsetting should be more accessible, easy and practical for all travelers. Therefore, the company launched its AI-based Carbon Footprint Calculator to help both individuals and businesses reduce and offset their travel emissions.

Aydin outlined how 78% of travelers are seeking eco-friendly choices, so “this innovative tool is designed to meet the EU’s stringent carbon emission regulations and address the growing demand for sustainable travel options.”

“By offering these solutions, Tripnly not only supports the EU’s 2030 climate goals, but also empowers users to make more sustainable travel choices,” Aydin concluded.
