The Eastern Europe Tech Tour 2018 (EETT) is making its debut within the area in June and is in the process of connecting with promising local startups for the upcoming event. Looking towards Eastern Europe as ‘a hotspot for thriving entrepreneurial ecosystems that have generated $5 billion in liquidity’, the event aims to open the network system even further by providing a platform for smaller companies to showcase their technology.
In the run up to the event, startups from Ukraine, Poland, Belarus, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Greece, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Macedonia (FYROM), Moldova and Montenegro are all invited to participate for free in the EETT.
The tour will take place on June 11-12 in Warsaw, Poland and on June 12-13 in Sofia, Bulgaria. Startups are requested to apply here until April 20.
In total, 30 Series A tech startups will be selected out of 200 companies to meet 80 international and local investors and key industry players. To qualify for the selection, the startups need to have a unique technology, a strong business model, business vision, the capability to deliver the goals stated by their business plan, as well as a strong management team.
The main goal of the tour is to introduce entrepreneurs from the region, which has generated $5 billion in liquidity back to investors in the past few years, to investors and pave the way for a full journey of innovation, from initial concept all the way through to valuation.
EETT 2018 is led by:
- Alexander Galitsky, EETT President and co-founder and managing partner of Almaz Capital;
- Marcin Hejka, Head of the EETT Selection Committee for Central Eastern Europe and co-founder and founding partner at OTBVentures;
- Evgeny Angelov, Head of Selection Committee for Southern Eastern Europe and chairman of BVCA and partner of PostScriptum Ventures.
The Tour is a good opportunity for entrepreneurs to present their businesses to venture investors and spend several days with them as a team, taking part in interactive sessions, dinners and special events.
