At the end of April Vienna will introduce not only deep discussions, but also execution some of the hottest ideas on topics like chatbots and AI. With numerous events every month, an “un-conference” BotBarCamp Vienna will be held on the 29 – 30 of April at the ImpactHub Vienna.

A BarCamp is an event of user-generated talks, primarily focused around one particular topic per gathering. So for BotBarCamp.wien, anyone can come and hold a talk related to topics such as bots, AI, speech-to-text and many more.

“With the Chatbot Conference in October, the chatbot incubator Lemmings twice a year, the new chatbot accelerator Elevate and our monthly BotsHub meetups, the BotBarCamp in Spring is the natural sequence, that simply came to my mind” – says Barbara Ondrisek, co-organiser of the event.

The topics of the upcoming days will be chatbots, AI, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing, Speech-To-Text and others.

The number of participants is limited to 200 and by now it was already fully booked. New registrations go into waiting list.

Following the standard of BarCamp concept, the event is totally free:

  • The BotBarcamp conference on April 29 (Saturday) (participant generated talks and workshops) will take place in three rooms with well-known keynote speakers like Helen Zeng from Slack, Barbara Macinkovic from Swell, David Pichsenmeister from oratio just to mention a few.
  • The next day April 30 (Sunday) will kick off with a Hackathon. A full day of top ideas being executed by curious minds and mentored by people, who could already gather some experience in the field.
The day will be summed up at Pitch Competition (co-organised by Startup Live) with a lot of cool prices for the best of the best!

See the preliminary program for both days here.

The organising team consists of five chatbot enthusiasts: Barbara Ondrisek (Co-Founder and CEO of Chatbots Agency and Mica, the Hipster Cat Bot), Lena Doppel (BarCamp veteran), Tanja Sternbauer (Managing Partner at Startup Live), Natalie Korotaeva (UX/UI Chatbot Engineer at Craftworks) and Vaida Saltenyte (Biz Dev at Chatbots Agency).

Registration is handled (of course) by it’s own BotBarCamp chatbot:

“As the event is totally free, the organisers are working hard to prepare the best experience for everybody, therefore not only participants, but also sponsors are very welcome” – adds Lena.
